About Cradle & Cane
Cradle & Cane Community Care was created after years of thinking about how our community might reimagine our definition of “the village".
Our idea of the village is newborns, elders, and everyone in between. From cradle..to cane.
It’s no secret that parents benefit from having access to additional support as they raise their children. Nannies, babysitters, Parents Night Out, Moms Morning Out, story times and other community events help provide some of this much needed support.
But what events can support other caregivers in a similar way? Those caring for elderly parents or other family members? That’s where Cradle & Cane comes in. We provide much needed respite opportunities for caregivers of all kinds, not just parents.
Most importantly, many of our events are integenerational; bridging the gap between generations and allowing all careseekers to benefit from community with each other.
This may look like Grandfriends Story time, Caregivers’ Day off, and other community events that bring the entire “village” of community together.
We’re reimagining the village, because no one should care alone.
About Our Founders
I’m George Golden. I’m a Marine Corps officer, a husband, and the proud dad of four boys between the ages of 9 and 12. My wife and I have always believed in the power of community, especially when it comes to caring for those we love most.
That belief led us to create Cradle & Cane Community Care, a company founded on the idea that “the village” isn’t just for raising kids. It’s for supporting everyone, from newborns to elders. Having experienced firsthand how much parents like us benefit from community resources like story times, babysitters, or Parents Night Out, we started asking: what about the caregivers looking after elderly parents or relatives? Where’s their village?
I hold a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and a graduate certificate in Strategic Leadership. My years in the military have taught me the value of teamwork, service, and building strong communities. That’s what we’re bringing to Cradle & Cane—a place where everyone belongs, and where caring for each other is at the heart of everything we do.
I'm Brittany Golden — a mom to our four energetic boys, a military spouse, and lifelong caregiver at heart. The idea for Cradle & Cane Community Care was born from the intersection of my personal experience raising a young family and my professional journey supporting individuals at life’s most vulnerable moments.
Before launching Cradle & Cane, I served in a variety of healthcare roles including hospital chaplain at a Level 1 trauma center, hospice chaplain and bereavement coordinator, and volunteer coordinator. These roles taught me the profound importance of presence, compassion, and community. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Master’s in Leadership, and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration.
As an advocate with the Alzheimer’s Association and Mother Forward, I’m deeply committed to improving systems of care including access to affordable childcare and paid family leave because I believe no one should care alone.
Cradle & Cane is rooted in that belief. It exists to restore the village, bridging generations and creating pockets of rest and joy for caregivers of all kinds. Whether you’re raising young children, caring for aging loved ones, or doing both at once, I see you. We’ve been there. And we’re building this for all of us.
